Thermostat vacuum control switch
Hi,
Does anyone know if you can still get these switches that control the vacuum advance with engine temperature? It is the red valve in the picture.
What size is the thread fixing? I cant remove mine. I have tested to see if it works but I dont think it does. I have found some similar ones used on american cars but not sure if they would fit: https://www.musclecarsandclassics.ca/en ... -1976-1981
Thanks for any help
Tim

Re: Thermostat vacuum control switch
Thanks, ill take a look. Seems like a tricky part to find.
Do you guys still use them on your cars or do you just bypass them? I guess it doesn't make too much of a difference if the ignition is set up correctly...
As I understand it only affects the idle speed when the engine is warmed up.
Thanks

Re: Thermostat vacuum control switch
I'm not specialist but it's an antipollution thermostatic valve so I think that the engine can work without it, just with increased pollution.
