Rev limiter. My rallye only revs to 5500 rpm and sometimes 6000 rpm before it pulls back. Am I right in saying that this is the rev limiter somewhere? Or is it the gearbox? What can I do?

I think it the revlimiter is the spring in the rotor arm.. I have a new rotor which says 7100 on the side.. I'll fit and see what happens. ( I think i can twist the spring too if it has become weak)

Its the origal motor yes at 222000kms..I have just had the head off ported it and put a catcam camshaft in it... sounds like a monster.. Check the links & desc belowWhat changes were made to your engine?
Is it the original one?

I saw only some pics in the links below.
Any specs or more detailed site?
My engine was changed to 1360 (after the original 1294 died)
and the head itself (incl. webers, of course) is a 1.3 original.
So I thought that this was the cause. The 1360 is less edgy
than the 1294 (by its specs).
Do you have pics of that part?
merci beaucoup,
Daniel.

Try this link (since you can speak french)
I think this explains it.
I think the spring expands due to the centrufgal force and then touches a contact. The tougher the spring the higher the revs will go.

I just bought and installed new ones...(so I keep the old ones for emergency)Great !
I understood the process from the pics, but photos will assist big time.
Did u document the process with pics?
So you do not need to follow the process of ajusting the spring...
